Why do we climb?
Trailmixer is an LGBTQ+ organization making a positive impact in our community. Each Summer our Charity Mountain Climbing Event supports organizations that work with underserved members of the LGBTQ+ community, helping in their effort to augment the amazing work these organizations do for our community on a daily basis.
Since 2013, we have partnered up with The Alzheimer's Association and The Trevor Project. This year we have selected Brave Trails Camp, an LGBTQ+ youth leadership Summer Camp. Funds raised in the weeks preceding Trailmixer's Summer event will add to their scholarship fund, helping underprivileged kids from around the country attend camp. For many kids, this is their first time meeting other youth like themselves. The partnership between Trailmixer and Brave Trails Camp will help provide an environment where LGBTQ+ youth can focus on becoming strong, effective leaders for change.
But we don’t just raise money. We also get involved in the community in other ways. For example, in 2019 our climbers are leading workshops at several of Camp Brave Trails Summer sessions. In this way Trailmixer is promoting goodwill and fostering strong relationships with other LGBTQ+ organizations.
