We Are Climbers

We started in 2013, first as a hiking group who decided to raise money for organizations with important missions, like “The Trevor Project” and “The Alzheimer’s Association”. As we grew as a hiking group, we asked ourselves, "how can we combine our love for nature and the outdoors with helping our LGBTQ+ community?" The answer came during a discussion about our own experiences growing up as LGBTQ+ teenagers. There was little or nothing designed for kids like us. There was no safe place to be ourselves and flourish as members of society. In 2018, Trailmixer was born from that love of nature and the outdoors and our desire to create a warm, fun, and integrated community where everyone can participate by either helping to raise money for the cause, or just by attending one of our outdoor events.

For months we train and challenge ourselves by climbing high peaks and trekking through beautiful locales to raise money for the Trailmixer Outdoor Access Fund; In process, we forge partnerships and build long-lasting friendships. By pushing beyond perceived limits, we promote camaraderie and instill confidence amongst our hiking members.

Scholarship Fund (TSF)

In 2019, we created the Trailmixer OUTdoor Access Fund that benefits  LGBTQ+ youth. The money we raise go towards scholarships for leadership programs and community events that provide safe access to the outdoors.
