The first fundraiser of the season was at Mount San Gorgonio, in the San Bernardino National Forest, Sand to Snow National Monument. Southern California’s tallest mountain at 11,503’. It is the 7th most topographically prominent peak in the 48 contiguous states. The mountain hosts the longest recorded line of sight in the contiguous United States; it is plainly visible from the summit of Mount Whitney, 190 miles away. Vivian Creek Trailhead – 6080 feet; High Creek Camp – 9230 feet; Summit – 11,503 feet.
In 2022, we raised a total of $44,345.58 for the Trailmixer OUTdoor Access Fund. Every cent of this money was awarded as scholarships to low-income POC/LGBTQ+ youth to attend leadership outdoor programs in 2023.
