Yosemite National Park - Glacier Point

Distance: 7.2 Miles

Difficulty: Moderate

Time: 4h

Elevation Gain: 1480 ft

Last Summer, I decided to join a group of friends at a long weekend in Yosemite National Park The plan was to spend four full days in the park, and another day or two on the road. Two friends and I packed up my Prius and we headed north.

A few hours driving through the flat and somewhat monotonous scenery of the California Central Valley, the terrain went through dramatic change: flatlands gave way to rolling hills, which gave way to mountains with snow peaks; plantations and grass gave way to pine forests; dear, birds, creeks, lakes… Suddenly it felt like we were in another state, or country, even. And in only a few hours’ drive from Los Angeles.

If you are a hiker and haven’t visited the park, do yourself a favor and go. Words & photos cannot describe the sheer beauty, grandness and expansiveness of Yosemite Park.
