Our second adventure of the summer will take us on a five-day, four-night backpacking trip to the Lake Tahoe region, climbing Dick's and Jack's Peaks along the way in the Desolation Wilderness.

Our second adventure of the summer will take us to the Lake Tahoe region, and the Desolation Wilderness on its western edge. We will enjoy a five-day, four-night backpacking trip deep into the backcountry, and while there, climb both Dick’s (9974 feet) and Jack’s (9856 feet) Peaks in the center of the wilderness.

Day one will have us leaving from the Echo Lake trailhead at the southern end of Lake Tahoe, for an easy seven-mile hike into the Lake Aloha basin and Heather Lake, where we will set up camp for two nights.
Day two we will leave our large packs, and climb up and over both Dick’s and Jack’s and return to camp – a day filled with 11 miles of climbing and rock hopping with about 2000 feet of gain giving us stunning views…
